Simply have to ask…

When I was  younger there was one time my mom knew I needed something and I didn’t have it but would not give it to me or bring it up because I simply  didn’t ask. Being my timid self nervous of being a bothersome or hearing her say no resulted in me beating around the bush to lead up to asking what I originally needed in the first place. She said to me I knew you needed such thing but was waiting for you to open your mouth and ask for it. Right then she told/taught me never to be afraid to ask for anything because she was my mother, who loves me and if I needed something and she had to give she would.

That’s just like how God always knows what we are in need of and  when we are in need of something but if we don’t ask He can’t give it. Closed mouths don’t get fed in the natural as well as in the spiritual. We can not receive if we do not ask. We must know we have the type of relationship with our Heavenly Father as our earthly parents/guardians, spouse, friend, business partner, or whoever you go to for help that we can come to God for anything! Because there are going to be times when we ask people to help us and they can’t, we are all human and sometimes fall short even when we try hard not to but God will never fail us!

Philippians 4:6 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Hungry, Grab the Word! Why Feeding the Spirit is Important

Have you ever went to sleep and woke up extremely hungry, “like you have not eaten in days”? This reminds me of the parable in the bible, Matthew 9:23-26, the child who they thought were dead but she was only sleeping.  Everyone was convinced she was dead and God arrived too late to save her but then He spoke to the girl to arise and she did just that!! After awakening her He told the others to give her something to eat. Our spirits need to be fed just like our earthly bodies. When we do not feed our spirit with the word of God, prayer, and quiet time with God the Holy Spirit within us weakens and goes to sleep. But once you spend time with God, He awakens and restores the Holy Spirit within you. As you go through life you will hunger and thirst more for Christ and His word and just like in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” So whatever is sleep inside of you maybe a certain goal, relationship with God, His Word, a dream, or a business idea perhaps, awaken it and start feeding it now!

Hebrews 10:17-18

 Then he adds:

“Their sins and lawless acts
   I will remember no more.”

18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

Have you ever thought about all the mistakes you have made and sins you have committed? I know I have and ever time I begin to reflect on how many times I let God down and chose other things over Him; and not once did He forsaken me. He always was there for me and never left my side. When I was broken and hurt from choosing people or things that wasn’t good for me Jesus welcomed me with open arms. Soon as I asked for forgiveness with a pure heart He would forgive me and bring it up no more. Like wow who does that, my God does!!!! That’s why I’m so glad God isn’t like man cause people will throw things in your face or like to remind you of your past mistakes but God will only remind you of your past to remind you of how far He has brought you and reassure you that He’s trustworthy to keep keeping you.

Do Unto Others as You Would have them Do Unto You!

Always remember the pain and brokenness you endured when you was not at your best and was going through. Remember that feeling when it comes to others when they mess up or are broken so that you will have compassion over them just like you wanted when it was you. Never judge or put down someone for their wrong or sin because they sin differently, we all sin and fall short of the glory. Let’s not be lawyers about our own sin and mistakes but juries and judges to others.Remember where you have came from to remain humble and stay in the place to help them recover. Just offer genuine love for them like Christ has always offered us. Being judged hurts others and pushes them away from church or wanting to be saved because the fear of being judged, talked about, or put down. As people of faith we must treat others with love and compassion. We are called to show love and grace like Christ offers everyone countless of times.  John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. But even when you come across those judgmental beings (because they do exist Christian or Not!!)  speak in and over your own life that when everyone else see your faults God still sees His child that He has purpose for and loves so much. When others say you are not of any good and down for the count GOD says NO that is my child, I love him/her, others may think they are not worth living but I thought he/she was worth dying for! Do not let fears, faults, or judgmental people make you doubt God’s love for you, your destiny, gifts, and dreams.
